Recent Feedback
We screened the show in our café at 11am today and had 9 attendees. This may not seem like many but these 9 residents sat transfixed and engaged for the full 45 minutes, laughing with Ricky Fulton, holding their breath with the trapeze artists, engrossed in the tattooed ladies of Myanmar and the vintage footage of Glasgow! One lady danced along to Elton and Ella. The trivia question was enjoyed and lots of residents engaged and were delighted to have found they’d answered correctly.
Direct verbal feedback from those who attended was:
- ‘Really good’
- ‘Would like to see more behind the scenes’
- ‘Very good! Would like to see more wild life’
- ‘Really good. Best bit was the ladies with tattoos as reminded me about an education tour I did to Thailand. The comedy was good.’
- ‘Different, in a good way.’
- ‘It was alright’
It was a great mix of interest, comedy, music, thought provoking and moving content. I think the fact 9 residents stayed for the full 45 minutes speaks volumes! We are initially showing each show within the café to make it more of an event and to encourage residents to mobilise down to the café and socialise, rather than just having it playing in each of the flats. We can always roll it out into the flats later on.

More Feedback
Dear Mike.
A wee bit more feedback from last week for your info
This from one of the engagement support workers:
During the café morning on 19th September I had one resident present who is usually restless and shouts out a lot. I tried several techniques to keep this resident calm using different tools but as soon as she was not occupied with conversation she would start shouting out again.
At 11am I put on the XLNT WORLD programme for the morning and initially stayed discussing it with this resident and she said she was not really interested in watching.
After a few minutes of it being on the resident was glued to the screen watching, laughing along to the jokes and singing to the songs performed which in turn kept her calm and the shouting out stopped very quicky.
This then lasted almost the entirety of the programme and kept this resident engaged and calm throughout.
As soon as the programme was over the resident started shouting out again and did not want to stay in the café.
